IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen P
Talbot
October 5, 1940 – October 5, 2019
Helen (Scoglio) Talbot, 79, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Helen was born in Beverly on October 5, 1940 to the late Luis and Helen (Ramsdell) Scoglio. On her eighteenth birthday Helen married the love of her life, Raymond G. Talbot.
When Helen wasn't taking care of her children, she selflessly volunteered at St. Anne's School, St. Anne's parish, Saltonstall School, and HeadStart in Salem. She was also a Girl Scout Leader of Troop 83 for many years.
Helen was a former seamstress, ceramics teacher, a wonderful cook and baker, and a teacher of knitting and crocheting. She taught herself to crochet with one hand after her strokes, and many were recipients of her blankets.
Helen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond Talbot; her children, Darleen DeCourcy, Kevin Talbot, Eileen Murray, Rayleen McGrath, Deborah LeBlanc and their spouses; her grandchildren, Justin Talbot, Melissa Pena, William Talbot, Brendan DeCourcy, Tabitha McGrath, Colleen DeCourcy, Brady McGrath, Lucas Murray and Casey McGrath; her great-grandchildren, Sophia Talbot, James Talbot, William Paul Talbot Jr., David Talbot, Olivia Talbot, Aiden Talbot, and Zacari Pena. Helen is also survived by her siblings Barbara Crandall, Joan Perron, and Eileen Haines, along with many nieces and nephews. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Helen Scoglio, and her siblings Luis Scoglio Jr. and Teresa Graffum.
Helen was known as Grammy to many, and will be missed by all that knew her. May she walk freely besides her parents in Heaven.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-8 on Wednesday, October 9 at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal Street, Salem. A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 10 at 11 AM at St. Anne's Church, located at 292 Jefferson Ave, Salem. Burial will follow the funeral service at Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
