Helen Emily Mailhoit

HELEN EMILY MAILHOIT of Beverly Passed away on February 15, 2026, at the age of 88 in Danvers, MA.

Born in Salem, MA on March 24, 1937, Helen lived in Ipswich, MA until she married. She was married on February 2,1958 to William Mailhoit. They were married for 57 years. Helen & Bill lived in Salem all their lives where they raised their five children. She worked at many places in the Salem area, including Empires Clothing Store, Shaughnessy Rehab Hospital, Carlson Realty and Eastern Bank.

Helen spent her retirement attending yard sales, shopping, knitting, and rooting on the Patriots and the Red Sox. She had a real passion for NFL football. She often watched football from morning to night on Sundays and during the playoffs. She enjoyed playing bingo and scrabble and participating in the many activities at Turtle Woods.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Mailhoit and is survived by her five children: Deb Mailhoit of Englewood, CO, David Mailhoit and his wife Maria of Peabody, MA Joanne Mailhoit and her fiancé Bill Grey of Newburyport, MA Bob Mailhoit and his wife Christine of Wakefield, MA Jim Mailhoit and his wife Arlenea O’Keefe of Hampton, NH.

Helen was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Helen will be missed by her friends at TurtleWoods where she lived her final years. Helen’s memorial services will be held at Murphy’s Funeral Home, 85 Federal St Salem, MA 01970. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 4-7 with funeral services held at Murphy’s Funeral Home on Wednesday February 25, 2026, at 10:00 am Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Salem following the service.
