Helen Horton Folger, beloved wife of John H. Folger Sr., of Marblehead died on May 21, 2009 after a long illness.
Helen was born in Burnside, KY in 1924. She was the daughter of Mary Louise Cropper and Dr. Joseph Horton M.D.. Helen attended the University of Kentucky and later became a stewardess for United Airlines and valuable civilian nurse during World War II.
Besides her husband she is survived by her daughter Diane Kern and her husband John of Torrance, CA, and her son John Folger Jr. and his wife Janet of Peterboro, NH, and her grandson John H. Folger III. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Horton of OH.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 A.M. at Grace Community Church, 17 Pleasant St., Marblehead. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 6 P.M. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers family requests donations to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan Street , Danvers, MA 01923.
