Gloria (Marchant) Lampropoulos, 86 years, passed away peacefully on Monday March 11, 2019 at home with her loving husband & children by her side. Daughter of Henry & Eva (Boisclair) Marchant & devoted wife of 45 years to George Lampropoulos. Loving Mother to Daughters Diane (Roger) Morin, Jeanne (John) Fontaine, Judith Lombard, Gail Lampropoulos, Son, Robert Blanchette & his partner Melissa Snook. Sons in law, Mitch Turcotte & Mark Lombard. Sister in law to Demetrious (Pauline) Lampropoulos & Betsy (George) Carras. She leaves 10 grandchildren, Brian Morin, Melanie Lombard Pertillar, Mark Lombard, Craig Lombard, Desiree Wynott, Jamie Downie, Haley Welch, Jason Blanchette, Dan Turcotte, Michelle Gillis along with 19 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Anne Marie Turcotte, granddaughter Jennifer Morin, & sisters, Helen Marchant & June Cuneo. Gloria also leaves dear friends, Carolyn LeBlanc, Yvonne Lysiak & Bette Thomas.
She was a resident of Salem & Danvers prior to moving to Bonita Springs 25 years ago.
Gloria graduated from Salem High School followed by Millinery & Upholstery classes @ Essex Aggie. Her passions besides spending time with family were sewing, gardening, singing, dancing, traveling & spending time at the beach.
Her touring career started off with Michaud Bus Lines followed by the establishment of her own tour company, Hawthorne Tours in Salem. She then went on & founded the Salem Trolley Company, serving as President of both companies, which are still in existence today. She served as President of the North of Boston Tourist Council from 1985-1986 & received the "Hospitality" Award from Michael Dukakis in 1990.
Upon retiring to Bonita Springs Fl., Gloria became President of the Ladies of the Elks Lodge where she also served as Banquet Manager.
Gloria was dedicated to her family & friends and loved by all she came in contact with. She spent her last few months enjoying her residence @ All Seasons Naples.
Her Funeral Service will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, corner of North St, Salem on Friday April 5, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial of the urn will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem following the service.
