IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenn Walter
Wheeler
July 20, 1955 – January 22, 2021
Glenn Walter Wheeler, 65, of Marblehead and Danvers passed away January 22, 2021 at home surrounded by family after bravely facing cancer. Born in Lynn, Glenn was the son of John and the late Lucille (Burgess) Wheeler. He graduated from St. Marys High School in Lynn in 1974 and went on to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Salem State University in 1978. Glenn worked for many years as a finance and cost accounting professional with Drager-Siemens, Epsilon, and most recently at Altova.
Glenn had many passions in life, including a lifelong (sometimes painful) love affair with the Boston Red Sox and all New England sports. A dedicated father, Glenn was a coach for Danvers Youth Baseball, managing to attend nearly every one of his children's games. A natural athlete, Glenn loved riding his bike, spending time on his boat with his partner Christine and their dog Belle, and weight lifting- even during chemotherapy treatments. He loved skiing, and always looked forward to spending time with his brother Brian out in Big Sky, Montana. Glenn was the absolute life of the party, told legendary stories, and would do almost anything to get a laugh. Gifted with a keen ability to connect with others, Glenn was a born leader. In many ways, Glenny was "the glue" that held us all together. His family and friends will miss him more than words can say.
In addition to his father, John Wheeler of Marblehead, Glenn is survived by his long-time partner, Christine Gesek-Michelini of Marblehead and Salem; children, Sean Wheeler of Amesbury, Colleen "Coco" Wheeler and her wife Ilana Savdie of Brooklyn, NY, and Geoffrey Wheeler of Danvers; siblings Kevin Wheeler of Ogunquit, ME, Brian Wheeler and his wife Mary of Big Sky, MT, and Doreen (Wheeler) Stacey and her husband Peter of Marblehead; nieces and nephews, including Dan Wheeler and his wife Miranda of Big Sky, MT, and Meaghan and Jack Stacey of Marblehead; former spouse and good friend Sheila Wheeler of Danvers; many cousins, uncles, and aunts; his lifelong friends "The Bradys"; and too many other friends to name. Glenn is predeceased by his beloved nephew, Jeremy Wheeler of Big Sky, MT, and his mother Lucille (Burgess) Wheeler of Marblehead.
Services and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
