Gina Marie Hughes age 34 of Pawtucket, RI, formerly of Dorchester and Salem, died unexpectedly in Pawtucket, RI Wednesday August 1, 2007.

Born in Boston the daughter of Steven Campbell of Newport, RI and the late Dorothy Hughes she was raised in Dorchester. At the age of 15, while attending St. Ambrose School her mother was killed by a drunk driver in an automobile accident. The following year, Gina gave birth to her first child, Jillian. A determined mother, she pursued her education, was graduated from St. Margaret's High School and worked part time while in school to provide for her daughter.

She continued to work local part time jobs, and "did it all" to raise her family as a single mom. Gina was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

In addition to her father, she is survived by four children Jillian Hughes-Ingram of Newburyport, William Ingram-Hughes, Jason Hughes and Nelson all of Salem; two sisters Tammy Hughes of Salem and Crystal Campbell of Newport, RI; three brothers Michael Paterno, Sr. of Billrica, Brian Hughes of Port Charlotte, FL and Steven Campbell of Newport, RI; one grand daughter Nevaeh Rose of Newburyport; two nieces Alissa and Ashley Narvaez and two nephews "E.J." Narvaez of Salem and Michael Paterno, Jr. of Billrica.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 10, at 9:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. James Church, 161 Federal St., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. in the Murphy Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
