Salem – Geraldine "Gerri" (Murphy) Malko, age 67, passed away Friday July 8, 2016 at Salem Hospital. Born in Greenfield, MA to the late Timothy and Kathleen (Donahue) Murphy, Gerri moved to Salem as a teenager, graduated from Salem High School, and attended Salem State College. After starting her family, she began her career in Human Resources for the Shaw's Supermarket chain where she continued to work until her passing.

Gerri will be deeply missed by her daughter Julie Cheon and husband Rod of Marathon, FL; her son Jason Malko of Salem; her sister Laura Palin and husband James of Peabody; her sister Mary Beth Nelson and husband Eric of Lynnfield; her nephews Andrew Thomas and Timothy Palin and husband Michael Lopez; and her nieces Sarah and Emily Nelson.

Visiting hours for Geraldine will take place Wednesday July 13, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home 85 Federal Street (corner of North St.) Salem, MA 01970. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral Services will be held privately at the request of the family.
