Salem – Geraldine Mahoney, age 97 years, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022 at her home.  Born in County Cork Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Murphy) Mahoney.  Geraldine came to the United States and settled in New York where she starter her career as an insurance agent.  She relocated to Salem, many year ago, where she continued her career working for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company until her retirement.

Geraldine was an active member of St. James Parish and had been a Eucharistic Minister for the church for many years.

Geraldine was the last member of her family living and was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Frank "Sunny" Mahoney, Jr.  She is survived by very close friends, Irene and her son Jim Antonio of Peabody.

Geraldine's funeral will be from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem, on Tuesday November 29, 2022 at  9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St James Church, Salem at 11:00 AM.  Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody following the Mass.
