Geraldine (Cronin) Castonguay 87, died peacefully on Saturday, October 2, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Albert Castonguay with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Salem, educated at St James School Grammar and High School, Gerri was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Mary (Manning) Cronin. She worked for the Park and Recreation department in Salem and managed the Witch House. Gerri was a communicant of St. James Parish and enjoyed helping at the annual bazaar.

She loved the time she spent with her family and friends and with her quick wit was loved by all who knew her.

Geraldine is survived by her daughter Ann Levesque and son-in-law Marc of Beverly and their sons Matthew and Daniel, daughter Janice Stammer and son-in-law Charles of Oldsmar, FL and their children Zachary and Leah, son William and daughter-in-law Pamela of Salem and their son Cameron. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her brother, James Cronin.

Visiting hours for Geraldine will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street on Wednesday morning, October 6, 2021 from 9am to 10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, 160 Federal St, Salem at 11:00 a.m.  Burial at St. Mary Cemetery Beverly.  The family is deeply grateful to the staff at The Linden for their love and care.
