IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George A
Regan
December 23, 1919 – August 18, 2018
George was proud of his family and cared for several family members in their illnesses. He is pre-deceased by his father Charles Regan, mother Margaret (Brawders) Regan of Salem and by brothers Joseph, Thomas, Charles, Larry, Leo, Edward ("Mike" or "Mickey"), and sister Mary Digou, also of Salem. He is survived by several nephews and nieces, and grand- and great-grand nephews and nieces.
He graduated St. James Grammar School and attended Salem High School, after which he joined the U.S. Army during World War II and proudly served in North Africa and Italy. He returned home to his loved Salem and was employed by the City of Salem until his retirement. He remained in his family home until spring of 2018 when he joined family members in Nashua, NH.
George had an amazing knowledge of sports, movies, Civil War, and Russian histories and was able to provide details of people, statistics, and events even as he reached age 98. His favorite activity was watching sports, especially the Red Sox and New England Patriots.
George worked hard for many years and led a good life, accepting what came his way, finding pleasure in the Regan gardens, being happy to see his family, friends, and good neighbors. He was respected and befriended for his breadth of knowledge and quiet manner.
