George Wesley "Papa" Jeter, age 77, husband of the late Judith (Irzyk) Jeter, died at Kaplan Family Hospice House, Thursday, May 30, 2013 surrounded by his family.

Born in Orlando, Florida, the son of the late Rufus and Mattie (Miller) Jeter, he was raised and educated in local schools in the Orlando area.
Mr. Jeter is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Brenda & Steven Nygren of Salem, Lori & Robert Spector of Salem, Kimberly & Dean Borders of Danvers; 9 grandchildren, Stacey Nygren-Jellerson & her wife Emily, Joseph Dion-Nygren, Olivia Nygren, Jacob Spector, Nathan Spector, Eli Spector, Devyn Borders, Dean Borders, and Dominic Borders; a sister Martha LeHeup of Orlando, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob & Joanne Irzyk of Peabody, a sister-in-law Carol (Billie) Jalbert of Salem and many beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

He was predeceased by his beloved dog Patty, a sister Florine Reilly, and three brothers-in-law Roland (Cookie) Jalbert, Jack Reilly, and Charles LeHeup.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 8:15 A.M from theMurphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, (cor of North St.) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. Anne Church, 292 Jefferson Ave., Salem.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visitation will be on Friday, May 31 TODAY from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM in the Murphy Funeral Home.Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.In lieu of flowers, memorialcontributions may be made to Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102 Danvers, MA 01923 or Northeast Animal Shelter, 204 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.
