George J. DuBois, age 63 of Salem died Sunday morning, December 20, 2009 at home following a long illness.
Born in Salem, the son of the late George and Stephanie (Szostek) DuBois, he raised and educated in Salem graduating from Salem High School in the Class of 1966. Mr. DuBois. A Viet Nam veteran of the United States Army, Mr. DuBois then became employed as a mechanic by Russ Kiernan's Auto Sales and later by Michaud Bus Lines until their closing. For the past several years he has been employed in the maintenance department of Salem State College.
George enjoyed speed, going fast and working on engines to make it all happen. Among his favorites, he loved Corvettes, fast cars, fast powerboats and air shows especially when he could share the experience with his family or a good friend.
He is survived by a brother and two sisters Thomas DuBois of Salem, Suzanne DuBois of Portsmouth, NH and Jeannette DuBois of Salem; A nephew Thomas DuBois of Beverly and Stephanie DuBois of Salem and his longtime companion Susan Kilday of Jackson, NC.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
