George Alexopoulos, age 68, husband of Rosa (Preza) Alexopoulos of Salem died at Grosvenor Park Nursing Home, Salem following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born and raised in Greece, the son of Thomas and Alexandra Alexopoulos, he resided in Salem for many years.

Mr. Alexopoulos was a wonderful father, a great husband and grandfather with a big heart who enjoyed life with those closest to him. He loved returning to Greece every summer with his wife visiting family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Alexopoulos is survived by two sons, Thomas and Alex Alexopoulos both of Salem, a step-daughter Alexia and her husband Ryan Meechin of Salem, three sisters Lambrini, Irini and Chrisoula all of Greece and a grandson George Alexopoulos.

His funeral will be held on Monday, October 21st at 9:15 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem, to be followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM in St.Vasilios Church, 7 Paleologos St, Peabody, MA 01960. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, October 20th from 2:00PM to 6:00 PM in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
