Formerly of Salem, Geneva "Jennie" (Panek) Gannon, age 91, wife of the late Raymond F. Gannon, died Tuesday afternoon at the Golden Living Center of Norwood. Born in Langdon, NH, she was the daughter of the late John and Madeline Panek.

Mrs. Gannon settled in Salem in 1952. Mrs, Gannon started her career with Peter's Laundry in Salem and continued as a laundress for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and was a member of AFSCME Local 500. She was very gentle, but spoke her mind and was a very hard worker. She retired in 1986.

Surviving her are two sons, David Gannon and his wife Pat Scialdone of Salem and Robert Gannon of Lynnfield. She had 16 brothers and sisters and was predeceased by two sons, John and Richard Gannon.
