Gayle M. Lento (McDonald)

June 24th, 1957 - July 10th, 2023

Salem- Gayle Lento, 66, of Salem, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at Massachusetts General Hospital on Monday July 10th, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. She shared 33 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Carl Lento. She is also survived by her loving sons, Frank and Vincent Lento as well as their significant others Giovanna Randozza and McKenzie Shultz respectively.  Born in Lynn, she was the beloved daughter of Priscilla (Clay) McDonald and the late Robert McDonald. She attended Lynn English High School, class of 1975.

Gayle's pride and joy in life were her two sons, Franky and Vinny. Gayle did everything with her boys, camping in the summer at various campgrounds, vacations to the islands, and spent her time working for the Salem Public School system in the kitchen just to be close to them.

Gayle was most happy when she was on her yearly October trip to Aruba with her husband and family, sitting in the sun, with a drink in hand. In the Summer, Gayle would spend her time at Forest Glen Campground with her mother Priscilla and surrounded by family. She was the beloved sister to Robert McDonald, Thomas McDonald, AnnMarie McDonald, and Nancy Bohanon, as well as their respective families including many nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. She was predeceased by her brothers John & James McDonald. In addition to her husband, sons, and family, Gayle leaves behind a long list of close friends. Gayle will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Gayle's visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 4pm to 8 pm.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at the East Gate Christian Fellowship, 127 North St, Salem at 11 am.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
