Francis R. "Frank" Ganey age 85, loving husband for 58 years of Nora (Tgettis) Ganey of Salem died peacefully at home surrounded by his family early Sunday morning February 20, 2011 following a long illness.
He was born raised and educated in Beverly, MA the son of the late George and Doris M. (Loring) Ganey. Following his graduation from Beverly High School, Mr. Ganey joined the United States Army Air Corps and proudly served the Country during World War II.
Following his discharge, he was employed by Microwave Associates (later known as M/A Com) in Burlington, MA for 35 years until retiring. One of his many responsibilities while employed was glassblowing, an art which he also enjoyed at home, making objects of art for family and friends.
Dedicated to his wife and family, he enjoyed being around his home taking care of his flower garden in summer, playing the piano in his retirement and going for walks with his wife.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Ganey is survived by four children, Diane and her husband Dean Geannacopoulos of Los Gatos, CA, Jo-Ann and her husband James McQueeney of Peabody, Jeffrey and his wife Gerry Ganey of Salem and Sandra and her husband Blair Mandell of Scotts Valley, CA; a brother Carol "C.B." Ganey of FL; ; three sisters Judy and her husband Joe Vergari of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Patricia Montoni of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Nancy Williams of CA; eleven grandchildren Christina, Keith, Robert and David Mattson, Amanda, Sydney and Selena Geannacopulos, Shawn and Holly McQueeney and Jenna and Arianna Mandell; one great grandchild Siena Mattson and another on the way as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother Donald Ganey and two sisters Priscilla Rouleau and Jacqueline Montoni.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St (corner North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem.
