Francis G. Duffy, age 59, of Beverly, died Saturday afternoon, August 9, 2008 in the Lahey Clinic Burlington following a long illness.
Born and raised in Salem the son of the late Joseph V. and Isabella (Graham) Duffy, Sr. he was educated at St. Mary's School and was graduated from Salem High School. During the Viet Nam War Mr. Duffy was stationed in Guam serving in the United States Navy, and repairing military ships at sea.
Following his discharge, he was employed in the electronics industry by Macom of Burlington, MA until retiring as a supervisor when he became ill.
Mr. Duffy is survived by a brother Michal Duffy and his wife Mary of Beverly; a sister Mary Cabral of Salem; his nieces and nephews Anthony Cabral and his wife Christina, Tiffany Cabral, Sandra Berchoff and her husband Bill, Sean Duffy and his wife Meg, Michael, Kalli, Jesse and Corey Duffy and his many friends at Essex Park Rehabilitation Center in Beverly.
He was predeceased by a brother Joseph V. Duffy, Jr.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday August 13, 2008, at 10:00A.M., in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Murphy Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
