Fernando Anthony DiIanni, 80, of Peabody passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on the evening of Tuesday December 4, 2018. Fernando was the son of the late Donato and Aida (Buccini) DiIanni as he was born in Woburn.  Fernando was named after St. Anthony as his name was Fernando before his Sainthood.

Shortly after his birth however, he and his family moved back to Italy for 8 years as they faced challenges of moving back to Massachusetts during World War II. After those 8 years, they moved to the North End and eventually to Medford where he graduated from high school.

Fernando went onto attend Boston College and later Columbia University as he graduated with his Masters in Accounting. He started working for the IRS out of college before moving onto working as a State Accountant for school lunch programs.

Outside of his work, he had a great passion for music as he loved listening to the Frank Sinatra and the rest of the Rat Pack. Above all, Fernando loved spending time with his wife Linda as they were married for many years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and those he encountered.

Fernando leaves behind: his loving wife Linda DiIanni of Peabody; his brother George and his wife Linda of North Grafton; his brother in law's Daniel Sauve of Peabody, James and his wife Anne of Wakefield; and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will take place on Friday December 7, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal St. Salem. Funeral services will be held following the visiting hours at the Murphy Funeral home.
