Evelyn P. (Petti) Patuleia, age 89, of Peabody, died Monday evening, May 3, 2010 in the Peabody Glenn Nursing Home, Peabody. Her loving husband, Rufino Patuleia predeceased her in 1986.

Born in North Attleboro, MA the daughter of the late Antonio and Angia (Barone) Petti, she was raised in Everett, MA during the depression years. Growing up she was known as "Pat" by her friends and during the World War II "War Effort" Mrs. Patuleia was employed in the local jacket and shoe factories supporting the needs of the American troops. Her lifelong passion however was music and ballroom dancing. One special night she and her late husband met in the local ballroom and following a brief courtship, they married and began their family.

A devoted wife and mother, she truly enjoyed caring for her family. While in the kitchen cooking and baking, the radio was always tuned to the "big band" music and she shared her dancing skills with her children.

Surviving her are six children, Joseph Patuleia and his wife Jackie Mayfield of Marblehead; Ana Ortins and her husband Philip of Peabody; Rufino Patuleia Jr. and his wife Roseanne of Andover, N.H.; John Petuleia and his wife Maria of Wells., ME: Teresa Lobb and her husband Steve of Oxford, ME; Rosemaria Provencher of Georgetown; one brother, Gaetano Petti and his wife Barbara of Medford; sister in law Gloria Petti of Peabody, formerly of Melrose; 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers Joseph and Floriano Petti.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem to be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 260 North St., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Murphy Funeral Home. Internment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
