Evelyn D. (Bourgoin) Helinski, 101, wife of the late Theodore P. Helinski, passed away peacefully, on Friday October 12, 2018 at the Brentwood Nursing Home in Danvers. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Salem, and graduated from Salem High School in 1935 as a "class prophet". Evelyn and her husband Ted, of 64 years, enjoyed boating together with their family on the "Jancy II" Evelyn also enjoyed, sewing, reading, playing board and card games, watching movies, playing piano and organ, listening to music, doing crossword puzzles, and traveling with Ted. Evelyn's favorite endeavor was giving love to her family and her cat "Buddy". She was also a devout Catholic (of Saint Thomas Church) and loved to pray the Rosary and watch the Mass on TV.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter Nancy Helinski of Bradford, her daughter Janet Brown and husband Chester of Beverly, her son Richard Helinski and wife Brenda of Florida, and her daughter in law Carol Helinski (Mrs. Robert) of Florida. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brothers Leo Bourgoin and Wilfred Burgoyne, sister Edna Minigan, her baby Carole Ann Helinski, son Robert Helinski, and grandchild Theodore P. Helinski II.
ARRANEGEMNTS: Her visiting hours will take place on Tuesday October 16, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located on 85 Federal St. Salem. Her funeral mass will be on Wednesday October 17, 2018 beginning at 10:00 AM at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, located at 1 Margin St, Peabody, MA 01960. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, located at 57 Orne St, Salem, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Care Dimensions (Hospice) to Care Dimensions 75 Sylvan Street, B-102 Danvers, MA 01923.
