(O'Brien) Drinkwater
August 22, 1929 – March 22, 2024
Eva M. (O'Brien) Drinkwater, 94, beloved wife of the late John F. Drinkwater, died March 22, 2024 in Woodstock, Georgia. Born in Salem, Massachusetts on August 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Eva M. (Belanger) O'Brien.
Eva was raised in Peabody and attended St. John's Elementary School and graduated from St. John's High School in Peabody.
Following high school, Eva was employed with New England Telephone in the Peabody Square office starting her career as a telephone operator and became a supervisor for her department. While working at the Telephone Company, Eva met the love of her life, Jack, and they married in 1955. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Pennsylvania where they started their family.
They returned to Massachusetts after several years and located to Middleton and eventually resided in Danvers where they raised their family.
Upon the untimely passing of her beloved Jack, Eva returned to the workforce with GTE Sylvania, working at the warehouse in Danvers for many years. She enjoyed her job and made great friendships with the girls in her office.
After her youngest, Theresa, graduated high school, Eva decided to transfer with GTE Sylvania to the Atlanta Warehouse, where she continued her career with the company for many years until her retirement. While in Georgia, Eva resided in Marrietta and Woodstock.
Surviving her are her children, Gerald Drinkwater, John F. Drinkwater of Danvers, Robert F. Drinkwater and his wife Randy of Woodstock, GA, David F. Drinkwater of West Palm Beach, FL, Her son in law J. Chad Davis of Marrietta, GA, her grandchildren, Alli Drinkwater, David Drinkwater, Isabelle and Sophie Davis, Dana, Hope, and Caroline Drinkwater of, sister of Mary L. O'Brien of Lunenburg, MA, sister in law of Marie O'Brien of Peabody and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Eva was also the mother of the late Theresa Davis and sister of the late Jack, Richard and Robert O'Brien.
Graveside services will be held at the Annunciation Cemetery, 155 Hobart Street, Danvers on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
