Emma (Boucher) Brusso, age 92, wife of the late Joseph Brusso, died early Tuesday morning in the Blueberry Hill Nursing Home, Beverly following a long illness.
Born and raised in Salem the daughter of the late George and Alma (Petit) Boucher, she was educated in Salem schools. For many years Mrs. Brusso operated a hairdressing studio on Essex St., Salem and later was employed at Ziggy's Donuts for nearly five years.
She then moved to Sanford, ME, obtained her drivers license and became employed as a housekeeper in the local hotel industry. Mrs. Brusso affectionately became known as "Mrs. Clean".
An avid pianist she loved children, all the babies in her family and everyone she met.
Mrs. Brusso is survived by 10 children Bradford Brusso and his wife Jeanne of Sanford, ME, David Brusso and his wife Claudia of Kingston, NH, Gordon Brusso and Robert and his wife Linda all of Wellington, FL, Rodney Brusso and his wife Carol or Raleigh, NC, Carol Mead and Marilyn Sheldon of Peabody, Joyce Merritt and her husband George of Danvers, Katherine Drabkowski and her husband Ted of Hollywood, FL and Donna Boudrot of Peabody; a brother Henry Boucher of Salem; a sister Elizabeth Bishop of Beverly; 31 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren many great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister Ida LaRoche.
Her funeral services will be held on Thursday evening at 8:00 P.M. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal ST., (cor of North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be immediately before the funeral Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M in the funeral home.
