Elsie Mentuck (107) passed away with her family by her side on Friday January 26, 2018 at the Bertram House in Swampscott. Elsie was born in Lynn, MA in 1910 to her mother Catherine (Flagg) Hodges and her father Thomas Hodges.

Growing up, she resided in Swampscott, MA where she attended the public schools in town throughout her academic career. She went onto continue her education at Kent Hills Seminary School in Maine.

After graduation, she started her own real estate and insurance company locally called North Shore Real Estate and Insurance. Outside of her work, she was an avid Bridge player and dedicated her time to teaching others as a member of the American Contract Bridge League. She taught people how to play Bridge locally in Swampscott as well as down in Florida in Stewart and St. Lucie.

In the year 1942, she married the love of her life John Mentuck form Elmira, New York. The two met in Nahant while John was stationed at Fort. Devens. They raised their family of three children in Marblehead where they resided for the rest of their life. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

Elsie leaves behind; her daughter Patricia Hayes, her son Mike Mentuck and his wife Elizabeth, her son John Mentuck and his wife Judy, and a large extended family.
