Elizabeth R. "Betty" (McGinley) Ferrante, age 67, of Salem, formerly of Tewksbury died Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at home. She is the former wife of Sebastian P. Ferrante of West Yarmouth, with whom she had shared 33 years of marriage.
Born in Boston, the daughter of the late James C. and Maria L. (Fougere) McGinley, Mrs. Ferrante was raised and educated in Malden, graduating from Chervrus High School. She then was employed by the Halifax District Hospital in Daytona, FL. Mrs. Ferrante later returned to Boston where she worked in the Banking Industry until marrying and raising her family. After marrying, she and her former husband lived in Beverly for three years until moving to Malden and settling in Tewksbury where they raised their family. More recently she has lived in Salem. A member of A.A.R.P she enjoyed playing bingo at Fairweather Apartments and listening to classical music.
Mrs. Ferrante is survived by two sons, James V. Ferrante of Salem and Paul S. Ferrante of Leesburg, VA; four brothers William J. and his wife Helen McGinley of Jacksonville, FL, Paul and his wife Margie McGinley of Lincoln, New Hampshire, Charles and his wife Anita McGinley of Wakefield and Bernard and his wife Phyllis McGinley of Ocean Springs, MD; two sisters, Margaret Pettengill of Revere and Terese A. Weitz of Tewksbury; two grandchildren Elizabeth Ferrante and Paul Ferrante and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers James A. Francis X., Joseph L.T., and Vincent L. McGinley.
Funeral services were held in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., Salem. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
