Elizabeth A. (Tighe) Chafe, age 47, loving wife of Francis E. Chafe, passed away peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on Saturday, August 9, 2014. Daughter of Elizabeth M. (Kempskie) Tighe and the late Thomas F. Tighe, Jr., Beth was raised and educated in Topsfield. She was a resident of West Newbury.


Beth continued her education and earned her license in electrolysis and cosmetology. She was also a compassionate caregiver in Topsfield. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing flowers. She was very talented and creative and enjoyed decorating her home. Her presence and sense of humor will be missed by all.


Surviving her, in addition to her husband and mother, is her son Matthew Chafe of West Newbury, two sisters, Kerry Craveiro and her husband Michael of Danvers, Jennifer Tighe of Danvers, one brother David Tighe and his wife Erin of Salem, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Mrs. Chafe's Funeral will be held from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., Salem on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, 154 Federal St., Salem at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery.
