Salem….

Elinor M. (Roby) Swenbeck, age 76, beloved wife of the late Paul C. Swenbeck of Salem, died Wednesday afternoon in the Shaughnessy Kaplan Hospital.
Educated in Salem Schools, she was raised in Salem Willows the daughter of the late Clifford W. and Jane P. (Sechovicz) Roby. Following her graduation from Salem High School in the Class of 1948, she became employed by the New England Telephone Company. After marrying her high school sweetheart and beginning a family, Mrs. Swenbeck became a stay at home mom raising her three children.

When her husband became ill, Mrs. Swenbeck returned to work and was employed by the Essex County Sheriffs Department as a secretary for several years. Following her retirement she was employed part time at the Witch Dungeon in Salem.

Dedicated to her family, she was blessed to be a stay at home grandmother. Her daughter Gail and her husband and their two children lived with her, having a loving extended family to share time with. She also enjoyed her many friends in "The Club" and exercising.

Mrs. Swenbeck is survived by her three children Deborah and her husband Mark Riggillo of Alfred, ME, Gail and her husband David Titus of Salem, and Paul Swenbeck and his wife Joy Feasley of Philadelphia, PA; a brother Joseph Roby of Peabody; four grandchildren Christopher and Michael Titus and James and Tyler Tanch and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother Clifford Roby.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to a children's charity.
