Salem – Elinor L. Fouhey, 100, of Salem, MA passed away peacefully on April 28, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Patrick O'Donnell and Ellen "Manning" O'Donnell, Elinor was raised and educated in Salem where she attended the St. James Grade school and High School, and has lived in the same house since she was 10 years old. In her adult life she worked for Social Security in the Webber Building downtown Salem and raised her family at the same time. She later went to work for GTE Sylvania at the age of 55 and retired ten years later. Elinor was an active member of the St. James Socialites and was very active in the church. She celebrated her Irish Heritage, and also enjoyed travelling.
Elinor is survived by her son William F. Fouhey III and his wife Ann of Danvers, her son Robert Fouhey and his wife Kay of Salem, her daughter Ellen Ouellette of Kennebunk, ME, her son Edward Fouhey and his wife Lynn Lebiecz of Ipswich, her grandchildren Kerry Fouhey, Shannon and Joseph Hanson, Stacy and Jeff Hess, Kelly and Mark Lobsitz, Erin and Robert Swonick, Michelle and Keith Archibald, Melissa and Matthew Dias, Thomas and Jennifer Ouellette, Julie and Raul Barrios and Trevor and Tyler Fouhey as well as 16 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Elinor is predeceased by her husband William F. Fouhey and brothers and sisters Mary Arnold, Elizabeth Crowdis, Sarah, John, James, George, Edward, Thomas, Patrick and Charles O'Donnell .

Visiting hours will take place on Thursday May 5, 2016 from 4 to 8PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street (corner of North St.) Salem, MA. Her Funeral will take place on Friday May 6, 2016 at the St. James Church 160 Federal Street Salem, MA at 10AM and will be followed by an internment at St. Mary's Cemetery 226 North Street Salem, MA.
