Eleftherios "Teddy" Viglas passed away on July 28, at the age of 76, due to extensive medical issues. Born on October 21, 1944 in Paravola, Agrinion, Greece to Andreas Viglas and Eleni (Plastiras) Viglas; Teddy was one of nine siblings: Athena, Evangelos, Fotini, Konstantina, Paul, Vasilios and Martha. In 1970 he married the love of his life Konstantina Gedeon, and they shared 45 years of marriage together until her death in 2015. While still living in Greece, Teddy served in the Greek military for two years, before he immigrated to the United States.

Once in the States Teddy made an incredibly successful business that he can for over 40+ years, located in Peabody Square. In 2009 he was awarded a "Community Service Award" for his exceptional service with the elderly. His family will remember him for his kind heart, and his love of gardening and cooking.

Teddy is survived by his children; Eleni (Viglas) Likousas and her husband George Likousas, and Andrew T. Viglas and his wife Aimilia (Fotiadi) Viglas; his grandchildren; Niko Likousas, and Margarita Viglas; his siblings; Vasilios Viglas and his wife Eleonora, Martha Alexopoulos  his sister in law Helen Viglas along with many nephews, nieces, cousins in the U.S. and Greece, and many friends and neighbors. He is predeceased by his loving wife Konstantina Viglas, who left this world on August 15, 2015.

Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal Street, Salem MA, from 4PM to 7PM. Calling Hours for those that are immunocompromised or elderly will be held from 4PM to 5PM. Calling Hours for the public will be from 5PM to 7PM. All who attend are reminded that masks are required, along with all other social distancing measures. A funeral service will be held privately for the family and their close friends.
