Eleanor A. (Hughes) Dionne, age 88, wife of the late Elisha J. Dionne, Jr. of Salem, died on Saturday afternoon, January 17, 2015 in the Brentwood Nursing Home, Danvers following a long illness. Born in Salem, the daughter of the late William J. and Elsie (Plourde) Hughes, she was raised and educated in Salem schools. Mrs. Dionne attended the Phillips School and Salem High School.

For many years she was employed by Sylvania in Salem. She also was employed by both CBS Hytron and Salem Laundry. She enjoyed both indoor and outdoor gardening. Looked forward to each spring when the flowers were in bloom. She enjoyed her home, cooking and gardening and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two children, Sandra Dionne of Randolph and Gary J. Dionne and his wife Lisa of Salem, three grandchildren Sarah A. Dionne of Salem, Daniel R. Dionne and Justin Dionne-Hughes both of Lynn, and two great grandchildren Alexis and Jason. She was predeceased by her daughter Judy Dionne and her two brothers William J. Hughes, Jr and Francis "Bucky" Hughes.

Her Funeral Service will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem on Thursday January 22, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home on Wednesday January 21, 2015 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
