IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward "Ted"
Peach
July 15, 1948 – February 23, 2022
Edward W. "Ted" Peach, beloved son of the late William and Barbara Peach, passed on peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Born July 15, 1948, he lived his entire life in Marblehead, Massachusetts. After graduating from Marblehead High School and Massachusetts Maritime, graduating 3 rd in his class, Ted served in the Navy and received an honorable discharge. He then returned to his beloved town of Marblehead, and in 1971 married his wife Pat and together they went on to raise three daughters. Ted worked in the family Construction & Masonry business for over 50 years until his retirement a few years ago. It was with great pride and relief that his nephew, Tom, continues to operate the Peach family business that spans many generations.
When Ted wasn't building rock walls or repairing sea walls, he was collecting Marblehead post cards, tinkering at his shanty at Little Harbor, connecting with family and friends in Nova Scotia through social media, and always on the computer researching some person, place, or thing. He had an insatiable appetite for knowledge. Ted enjoyed researching and compiling data on the subject of genealogy and he is cited and acknowledged in many genealogy publications. Ted was a collector of antique cars and enjoyed going to weekly car meets and judging car shows. It was through these outings that Ted and Pat met lifelong friends and looked forward to their leisurely Sunday drives together, and the annual trips to Old Orchard Beach, Maine and Nova Scotia. For those of you who knew Ted, you know how much he loved history, the town of Marblehead, his heritage, and tending his garden on Norman Street, which is unquestionably famous and the envy of the neighbors; it was a labor of love that he never thought of as work, in fact, it was his happy place and he was honored to have carried on the tradition that started with his beloved Uncle, Dan Peach.
Ted is survived by his wife Pat, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2021; his daughters and sons-in-law Julie and Bob Sullivan, Pamela and Earl LaPone, and Elizabeth and Jimmy Full; his beloved grandchildren Courtney, Mikey, Christopher and Reilley who affectionately called him Gramps and who will miss him beyond words; sisters-in-law Kay Monahan, Karen Peach and Melanie Chadwick; nieces and nephews Frankie, Chris, Billy, Tom, Hooper, Kirsten, and John. Ted was predeceased by his brother David Peach and brothers-in-law Lester Chadwick and Peter Dorney. A private family service will be held at a later date. Because Ted "never met a dog he didn't love" or have a treat in his pocket for a furry friend, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution in the name of Ted Peach to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem MA 01970.
