Edward R. Brophy Jr., 87, of Danvers passed away on the evening of Thursday September 26, 2019 at Beverly Hospital with his family by his side. Edward was the son of the late Madeline (Sullivan) and Edward Brophy Sr.
Born in Peabody, Edward grew up attending local schools where he went onto graduate from Peabody High School. After graduation, he went onto play football for the University of Massachusetts and later graduated with his B.S. from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS.

When Edward returned home, he served for 2 years as the head of the ROTC Program at Gloucester High School. Later, he worked for G.E. in Lynn for 20 years in their Aircraft Engine Division.
