Edna B. (Bekeritis) Eaton, age 90, wife of the late Robert B. "Bob" Eaton, of Salem died early Wednesday morning in the Rosewood Nursing Home, Peabody.


Mrs. Eaton was born, raised and educated in Salem, the daughter of Simon and Albina (Brsson) Bekeritis. Following her graduation from the Bryant and Stratton Secretarial School in Boston, she was employed for over 40 years until her retirement at the New England Telephone Company in Boston as an executive secretary.


Her true passions in life were her husband and the home they built together where she enjoyed their oceanside gardens.

She is survived by a brother, Stanley Bekeritis and his wife Theresa of Salem; a sister, Virginia Michaels and her husband John of Bluffton, SC and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.


Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral on Monday, July 19th, 2010 at 11 AM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (corner of North St.) in Salem. Interment will be in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem. At the family's request, there will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
