Obituary

Edith (Edie) L. (Murphy) Dyer, wife of the late Albert "Bunky" Dyer, passed away on April 15, 2015. Born in Gloucester, MA on May 5, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Charlotte (Halverson) Piscitello and William Murphy.

Edith was a graduate of Gloucester High School and the North Shore Children's Hospital School of Nursing. After nursing school she worked at Addison Gilbert Hospital, Salem Hospital, and North Shore Children's Hospital. She was with North Shore Children's Hospital for 36 years where she poured out her love for children.

She made many friends over the years and welcomed them into her home to enjoy her second love, cooking. Her wedding cakes for her children, friends and friend's children were talked about and enjoyed. Edie was a past president and member of the Salem Garden Club, past regent and member of the Women of the Moose and a past treasurer of Salem High Football Boosters. She was an organized person and never did a job she couldn't do to the best of her ability.

Edie and her late husband Albert "Bunky" Dyer (passed March 25, 2015) had spent 55 years together. Edie wanted her husband remembered as a man who took his vows in sickness and in health to his final days.

Surviving Edith "Edie" and Albert "Bunky" is their loving family. Their son Glenn Dyer, his wife Tammy (Lyons) Dyer and their two children, Justine and Ryan Dyer, and great-granddaughter, Mia Jeannette Emrich of Lebanon, Maine. Their son Dale C. Dyer, his wife Debora (Squire) Dyer and their children Daniel Squire, Traci (Squire) and her husband Rudy Thingvold, and two great-grandchildren, Rebekah and Dominic Thingvold. She is also survived by two sisters Jane, and her husband, Michael Piotrowicz and Fay Jones. Additionally she is survived by her brother Peter C. Piscitello and several nieces and nephews.
