Dorothy Ann Jodoin

Dorothy Ann Jodoin, age 90, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, near her home in Salem, Massachusetts.

Born on June 12, 1935, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Walter and Sophie Opolski. She was a lifelong resident of Salem and deeply connected to her community throughout her life.

Dorothy was married for 34 years to her beloved husband, Raymond Joseph Jodoin, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her three brothers, Walter Opolski, Edward Opolski, and Richard Opolski.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Beth Jodoin Sieminski and Paul Jodoin, both of Salem, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Lauren Roland and her husband Richard Roland of Beverly, Massachusetts, and Zachary Jodoin of Salem. Dorothy will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, and a proud and loving grandmother.

Known for her energetic spirit and physical vitality, Dorothy could often be seen going on long walks with friends and her beagle. Dorothy found great joy in spending time at Winter Island with lifelong friends and family, and she took immense pride in her gardens, which flourished through the changing New England seasons.

Dorothy was employed for several years at the Salem Phone Company and Filene’s, where she was known for her strong work ethic and warm personality. She was also an avid and dedicated member of the Guild of the Infant Savior.

Visiting Hours for Dorothy will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Murphy Funeral Home, from 4-6pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Her Funeral will be held the following day, Tuesday December 30 at 11:00 AM at the Murphy Funeral Home followed by a burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, 57 Orne Street, Salem, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dorothy’s memory to the Dementia Society of America at www.dementiasociety.org.
