Dorothy entered into Eternal Rest on October 31.
She was the daughter of the late James and Mary Ellen (McCarthy) Clancy; beloved wife of the late Anthony W. Chirichiello; dearest mother of Lisa Foley and son-in-law Jack of Salem, Michael Chirichiello of Stratham, NH, Garrick Chirichiello of Hampton, NH, and loving grandmother of PV2 John Foley, US Army of Vilseck, Germany and Liam Foley of Salem.
A resident of Salem, Dorothy was born and educated in Somerville. She later spent many years in Salisbury, where she raised her family before moving to Salem after the death of her husband, Tony, to be nearer to her grandsons. Dorothy was a voracious reader, an avid New England sports fan (especially the Patriots) and was at her talented and creative best in the kitchen. Dorothy loved politics and was happy to banter with any worthy adversary.
Dorothy is also survived by her brother, Robert Quinlan and his wife Lee, of North Myrtle Beach, SC; her sister Ann Schiavone of Medford; her sister-in-law Ellen Slater of Brockton; her brother & sister-in-law John and Irene Chirichiello of Wakefield; sister-in-law Nancy Logan of Wilmington and many nephews and nieces; as well as her dear friend Diana Duchesne of Salem. She was pre-deceased by her brothers, John and Edward Quinlan.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 29 at 5 p.m. at Immaculate Conception, Salem.
