Doris Perry Slattery, 91, passed away Tuesday October 10, 2017 at the Devereux House in Marblehead. Doris was born September 12, 1926 in Marblehead, MA to her father Raymond Perry and Matilda Perry.
Growing up in Marblehead, she attended Marblehead High School where she graduated in 1944 and went on to attend nursing school in New Jersey. Outside of her education, she was the head waitress at the General Glover for numerous years.
Staying in the food industry, she was the owner of the Harborview Dairy Whip (The Driftwood) for years enjoying the great hospitality given by Doris.
While she wasn't working, she was a wife and a mother to her family. Doris married Edward Slattery in 1948 and would go back to school to pursue her education in Boston to become a secretary in the medical field for Dr. Fallon in Marblehead. She later met the late Ralph Osier, who she met and was partnered with for 35 years.
Doris is survived by her siblings Chick and Warren; her daughter Marjorie Slattery-Sumner and her husband Louis; her late daughter Jacklyn Jackson and her husband Torrey of Marblehead; her son Peter Slattery and wife Beth of Connecticut; her daughter Enid "Eddi" Wood and her late husband Donald "Woody" Wood; and her son Timothy Slattery and his wife Peg; and a large extended family. Doris is predeceased by her siblings Alice, Hollis, and Charles
