Obituary

PEABODY- Doris "Dot" Eileen Hayes, 94, of Peabody peacefully passed away at home with her family by her side in the afternoon of Saturday May 8, 2021. Born in Salem, Dot was the daughter of the late Yvonne B. (Gaudreault) and Albert J. Letarte.

Growing up, she was one of 4 girls in her family. Dot loved spending time being active as she was an avid swimmer, skier, and square dancer. Early on in her life, she graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School. After her graduation, she later went onto work for Soucy's Insurance Company in Salem as she worked her way to becoming the Office Manager.

Outside of her work, Dot met the love of her life Robert F. Hayes and they got married on January 7, 1945 and started a family. Dot's dedication to her family shined through with her incredible selflessness and generosity. She carried those traits as a devote Catholic as a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Marblehead. She was also an active and charitable member to St. Jude's Charity. Dot will be remembered for being an incredibly generous woman with an amazing sense of humor and fun-loving personality. She will truly be missed by all who knew her as a loving mother and member in her family as she prioritized the importance of family, diversity, being kind to one another and helping those in need.
