Doreen (Lemieux) Quillen, 54, of Peabody, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Marblehead on October 18, 1956, she was the beloved daughter of Leonard and Mary (Spell) Lemieux. Doreen was educated in the Marblehead Public School System and for the last several years employed by the American Board of Examiners for Clinical Social Work as a Database Manager.
Along with devoting her time to her three grandchildren and family, she enjoyed bowling, camping, country music, and crafts. She will be remembered for her quick wit and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Doreen is survived by her daughter, Leanne (Quillen) Homan of Swampscott; 3 grandchildren, Lucas, Olivia, and Colin Homan; her parents, Leonard and Mary Lemieux of Eunice, LA, formerly of Marblehead; 5 brothers and sisters, Pamella Lemieux of Durham, NC, Leonard Lemieux of Baton Rouge, LA, Dana and his wife Karen Lemieux of Marblehead, Jeffery and his wife Joanne Lemieux of Newfield, ME, Diane and her husband Randall Bird of Danvers; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She is also survived by her longtime companion Michael McIntire of Peabody, and her former husband and life-long friend Michael Quillen of Marblehead.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday April 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Arland Dirlam Chapel at Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Interment will be Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. At the family's request there are no visiting hours.
