Mrs. Dora (Brault) Pappalardo, age 93, wife of Francis C. Pappalardo, died Friday afternoon, April 20, 2012 at the Lafayette Nursing Home in Marblehead.
She was born in Shediac, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of the late Adolph and Ernestine (Surette) Brault, Mrs. Pappalardo was raised and educated in Canada. She came to the United States with her family in the late 1920's and had lived in Salem most of her life.
Mrs. Pappalardo had been employed with Bowman's Bakery in Salem working as a cake decorator for the bakery. She had also worked for Planters Peanut Store on Essex St. as there store manager. She was an avid Bingo player and really enjoyed playing at St. James Parish in Salem. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting and made many beautiful crafts to share with her family and friends. Mrs. Pappalado enjoyed dancing and traveling with her husband. Some of their favorite places to visit was the Amish Country of Pennsylvania, the New England States and Canada to visit her family.
In addition to her husband of 59 years Mrs. Pappalardo is survived by her children, Norman Sicotte and his wife Patricia of Stratham, NH; Raymond Sicotte of Sacramento, CA; Linda A. Charbonneau and her husband John of Salem; Pauline Billings and her husband James of Peabody; two Sisters, Gloria Jannerelli of Rhode Island; Ernestine Guzman of Arizona; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pappalardo was predeceased by her daughter in law, Erika Sicotte, five sisters and one brother, Loretta Richard, Alfreda Brideau, Lorraine Murray, Grace King, Jacqueline Tremblay and Gerald Brault.
Mrs. Pappalardo's Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 260 North St., Salem on Thursday April 26th at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (corner of North St.) Salem, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Internment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Her family has requested memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
