Donald "Donnie" Hunt Jr 70 of Beverly, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on Friday, December 1, 2023, after a long eight-year battle with Alzheimer's. Donnie was born on May 15, 1953, in Lynn MA, where he graduated from Lynn Technical High School in 1971. He then relocated to Salem, MA where he lived most of his life before relocating to Beverly, MA. Donnie devoted 20 years of employment to Kelly Infinity of Danvers, MA, and previously was employed for many years at Sylvania and Sears Collections. He was married to Jacqueline Hunt in Beverly, MA on July 8, 1995.

Donnie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed road trips, camping, and playing darts. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Donnie was known best by his family for his infectious smile, infamous Donnie Jokes, his impeccable packing and organizational skills as well as being a human GPS. His favorite holiday was Christmas Eve where he loved hosting his family and creating lasting memories.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years Jacqueline Hunt of Beverly, MA; Daughter Sherrie Drinkwater, and her husband Jason of Peabody, MA, Daughter Tara Horgan, and her husband Matthew of Danvers, MA, Son Michael Richard, and his wife Alli of Danvers, MA, Stepdaughter Renee Mendez and her husband Rolando of Haverhill, MA, and Son Richard Hunt Jr of Peabody, MA. His grandchildren Ashley Drinkwater, Camden and Summer Horgan, Collins and Cooper Richard; his Father Donald Hunt Sr of Arizona, Sister Toni Sawyer McGlone of Amesbury, MA, Stepbrother Steven Byerly of Arizona, Dear friends Nancy and Fred Hersey of Peabody, MA, and his Cousin Frankie Hartman.

He is predeceased by his mother Margaret Sawyer, brothers Richard Hunt Sr and Dale Sawyer, and his sister Lisa Hunt Duerre.

Visiting hours will take place at Murphy's Funeral Home on 85 Federal Street in Salem, MA on Tuesday, December 5th from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Kaplan Family Hospice House or The Alzheimer's Association.
