Donald Broderick passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 peacefully with his family and priest at his side.
Born in Salem, Massachusetts, and residing in Beverly, Massachusetts, he attended St. Mary's Grammar School, Beverly High School and the College of the Holy Cross. Don enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served on the USS Adair during World War II.
Following his service, Donald began his career in telecommunications at the New England Telephone Company in Salem, MA and continued on to GTE Sylvania in Camillus, NY and eventually retired from Digital Equipment in Bedford, MA.
Donald enjoyed sailing, golfing, and spending time with his family including grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic and attended mass daily. He volunteered and was a member of the Methuen Senior Center Chorus.
Donald was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) in 2010. He leaves his daughter Nancy Mamis and son in law Steven Mamis of Methuen, MA; son David Broderick of Port Colborne, Ontario Canada; Daughter Mary Ellen Broderick of Methuen, MA, and son Richard Broderick of Guilford, CT. 5 Grandchildren, Donald and Sarah Mamis and Daniel, Tyler and Kelley-Ann Broderick and 5 great grandchildren. Donald also leaves brothers Richard Broderick, David Broderick and Robert Broderick. He was predeceased by two other siblings, Paul Broderick and Mary Lou Roberts.

Visiting hours will be on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 8:00am-9:00am in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (corner of North St.) Salem, MA 01970 to be followed by a funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church 15 Hawthorne Blvd. Salem, MA 01970 at 10:00am. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery Salem, MA
