Dominic Albert Velardi (88) passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 17, 2017 surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Dominic was born and raised in Salem by his father Carmello and his mother Nancy Velardi. Dominic attended Salem Schools and then enlisted into the Army to fight for his country in the Korean War.
After returning home from service, he married his wife Georgianna Ouellette on November 7, 1953.
He worked for many years for Varian, currently known as CPI, as a machinist retiring in 1991.
Above all, his greatest achievement and what he cared about most was being father to his children and a husband to his wife.
Dominic is survived by his daughter Diane Velardi of Salem; his son Donald Velardi and wife Paula of Newmarket , NH; his son Dominic Velardi and his wife Maureen of Newmarket, NH; his grandchild Christopher Velardi and his wife Rachel of Agawam, ME; his grandchild Garret Velardi and his wife Karina of Spain; his grandchild Patrick Velardi of Newmarket, NH; his great grandchild Jack Dominic Velardi; his great grandchild Henry Velardi; his brother John Velardi and his wife Carol of Wenham, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings Esther Velardi, Carmello Velardi, and Natalie DiPaolo.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, located on 85 Federal St, Salem on Sunday October 22, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday October 23, 2017 at St Anne's Church located at 290 Jefferson Ave, Salem.
