IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deanna R.
Cole
October 25, 1949 – April 26, 2024
Deanna Cole passed away on April 26, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by friends and family. She was the wife of John J. Cole to whom she had been married for 53 years.
Born in Caribou, ME, on October 25, 1949, she was the daughter of Rita Babin and the late Franklin Babin. Deanna spent the first eight years of her life living in Maine.
She had a wonderful childhood returning to Maine with her mom, dad, sister, and brother, visiting and spending time with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
She spoke throughout her life of the special love she had for both sets of grandparents. She aspired to be a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Needless to say, Grandmommy was very much adored and loved by all and her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
Deanna graduated from Masconomet Regional High School where she showed great school spirit as a proud cheerleader. She first worked for Sylvania Lighting Center, Kinsman Bus Co., and went on to have a long and wonderful career working for Mr. William A. Coolidge Estate and later operated her own cleaning business for many years.
Deanna leaves two daughters; Kelly Blanchette and her husband Thomas of Boxford, Keri Sexton and her husband Marc of Auburn, NH. Four grandchildren; Madeline and Taylor Blanchette, Bryce and Sydney Sexton. Two siblings; Wayne Babin and his wife Marylou of Long, SC, Jayne Smallman and her husband David of Boxford as well as several nephews and a niece.
Deanna was very active as a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and a long-time volunteer of the Topsfield Fair flower department.
Deanna loved to sew, crochet, entertain and cook. Over the years, Deanna was active exercising, playing golf, tennis, bowling, and camping. She was an avid walker and enjoyed traveling with her husband John, as well as many memorable vacations and trips with her friends and family.
Deanna cherished her family and friends. She was a warm and giving person. She touched a lot of people in positive ways and had us all smiling. She would love it if you took the time to put on your sneakers and go take a brisk walk with friends.
A memorial service for Deanna will be held May 11, 2024, at 2pm at the Episcopal Church of Topsfield, 124 River Road, Topsfield. A reception will follow. The service will be live streamed on the Trinity Church Topsfield YouTube channel which can be accessed from www.trinitytopsfield.org. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association, or the American Diabetes Association in Deanna's honor would be greatly appreciated.
