Obituary

David Blair Steedman, 79, of Salem Massachusetts passed away on Sunday February 2nd, 2025, peacefully at home. David was born in 1945 and was the son of the late Lawrence B. Steedman Jr and Mary (Warren) of Beverly.

David was predeceased by his wife and the love of his life Beth Ann Bugler-Steedman.

David is survived by his three children Lisa Steedman-Schichtel and her husband Tim of Palm Coast, Florida, Cynthia Lynn Raulerson of Ocala, Florida, and David Blair Steedman Jr, and his wife Amy of Ocala Florida, and predeceased by his son Eric Coit Steedman.

David was brother to Mr. and Mrs. Robert A Steedman of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Paul E Steedman of Hollywood, Florida, and the late John Scot Steedman.

David was Granddad to eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

David also leaves behind his four loyal Brother-in-laws and one sister-in-law, Phil, Brian, Kevin, Andy, Joan, and their families including twenty-one nieces and nephews.

David is a lifelong resident of the North Shore as he lived in Beverly, Danvers, and Salem. He graduated from Beverly High School in 1963. After Graduation, he then worked as a patternmaker at "The Shoe" in Beverly. He then enlisted in the Army with the 101st Airborne Division. On June 9th, 1966, he was wounded seven times on the Kon Tum Plateau in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. He was a purple heart recipient. David worked for the United States Postal Service, beginning his career as a garageman and retiring as the Operations Manager in 2001. David spent his retirement with Beth at his "Camp" at Lake Shore Park on Lake Winnipesaukee. David was a loyal supporter of many charitable organizations.

Visiting hours are being held for David at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem on Friday February 14, 2025 from 4pm to 7pm.  Funeral Services will be held on February 15, 2025 at First Baptist church, 221 Cabot St, Beverly at 10 am.  Interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House Danvers, MA https://giving.caredimensions.org/site/Donation2?df_id=2080&mfc_pref=T&2080.donation=form1
