David J. "Mushi Mush" Gordon age 58, of Salem, died at home surrounded by his loving family early Friday morning, October 5, 2012 following a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Lynn, he is the son of Sachiko "Sue" Marohushi Carroll of Salem and the late George Gordon. He had attended Sacred Heart Parochial Elementary School in Lynn, Mass. Mr Gordon then pursued his education in Culinary Arts at Essex Agricultural and became a well known local chef on the North Shore.
David will always be remembered for his vibrant outgoing personality, infectious laugh & great sense of humor. He was an amazing father, brother, & friend to all. He had a heart of gold and would always be there to help anyone in need.
Longtime companion of Patricia Julien of Salem, he is also survived by his former wife Karen Remon Gordon of Salem; three children David John Gordon and his wife Awilda, Melissa Ouellette and her husband Michael and Nicholas Gordon and his fiancé Lauren Fredericks all of Salem; five sisters Helen Anderson and her husband Gary of CO, Lucielle Gaudet of Lynn, Julia Butler and her husband Bruce of Irving, Suzanne Vacarro of Lynn and Mia Lee and her husband David of Salem; and seven grandchildren Janel, Amber, Coleman, Nicholas, Joseph, Savannah and Quinn and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St (corner of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday in the Murphy Funeral Home, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment will be private.
