Obituary

Daniel Walter Shipulski, 73, of Marblehead passed peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on May 29, 2020 with his daughter Kate at his bedside. Daniel was the son of the late Dorothy and Edward Shipulski of Saugus. He grew up in Saugus, graduated from Saugus High School in the loyal class of 1965, and attended Walla Walla College in Washington. In his youth he played football and baseball and later softball for many years. He served in the Marine Reserves and was a carpenter by trade. He had a quick wit and a tremendous sense of humor. He loved to grill for the crowd in New Hampshire and sit by the campfire listening to Oldies. He delighted in spending time with his grandsons, family, and friends as well as wintering in Ft. Myers, Florida. He enjoyed capturing the flavor of Marblehead by his daily walks to the landing, chatting it up with the fishermen and locals, and watching the boats in the harbor. He had a great appreciation for the little things in life and nature.

He is survived by his beloved daughter Kate Elizabeth Shipulski and his adored grandsons Owen Daniel and Jaxon Glenn O'Keefe all of Salem. He was predeceased by his son Kyle Daniel Shipulski in July of 2019. He was cherished by Connie McLaughlin of Marblehead, his loyal friend and companion. He was a devoted brother of Edward Shipulski of Methuen, Charles and Karen Shipulski of Saugus, and Jane and John Terrenova of Methuen.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends including his former wife Cherie Shipulski. He was loved and will be missed by all.

Due to Covid-19, a celebration of Dan's life will be announced at a later time. Donations in his memory can be made to Kaplan Family Hospice House through Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or to Friends of Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, 7791 Penzance Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33966.
