Daciel Gil Rebelo, age 64, husband of Lucia (Sampaio) Rebelo, of Salem formerly of Peabody, died at home, Sunday, July 24, 2011 following a brief Illness.
Born raised and educated in Sao Migueul, Azores, Portugal, the son of the late Joao and Maria (Carreiro) Rebelo. Mr. Rebelo had served In the Portuguese military.
He and his wife married and had settled in Peabody in 1977. A hard working man, he took great pride in providing for his wife. He was the most loving husband and father.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Rebelo is survived by a daughter Clara and her husband John Vigeant of Lynnfield and two grandchildren, twins Stall and Juliana Vigeant of Lynnfield.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 8:30 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North St) Salem t o be followed by a funeral Mass at 9:AM AM in Our Lady of Fatirma Church, 50 Walsh Ave, Peabody, MA 01960. Visitation will be immediately before the funeral on Thursday from 8:00 AM to 8:30AM. Interment will be private. In Lieu of flowers, his family request memorial contributions to the American Lung Association 393 Maple Street Springfield, MA 01105 or kindly help a friend quit smoking.
