Cosima M. Perroni, age 89, of Salem died early Thursday morning in the Jewish Rehabilitation Center, Swampscott following a lengthy illness.
A lifelong resident of Salem she was raised in Salem the daughter of the late John and Mary (Tricomi) Perroni. After completing her education at St. James School, Miss Perroni was employed in local department stores. She later became employed by Varian in Beverly for 25 years in the Chemistry Lab until retiring in 1980.
Miss Perroni enjoyed being with her family, was an avid bingo player and had been an active member of the Order Sons and daughters of Italy, America.
She is survived by a brother John Perroni and his wife Barbara of Salem; six nieces and nephews John Perroni and his wife Brenda of Salem, Sharon Bird and her husband John of Georgetown, Linda Raye and her husband Charles of Exeter, NH, Stephen Perroni of Miami Beach, FL, Kathleen Blakeman of Salem, and David Perroni and his wife Maureen of Hampton, NH; 11 great nieces and nephews Melissa, Michael, Shawna, Tyler, and Cameron Perroni, Kevin and Leanne Bird, Charles and Michelle Raye, and Nicole and Anthony Blakeman.
She was predeceased by a sister Margaret Jean "Mag" Perroni and an uncle, John Tricomi.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody, Ma on the Salem Peabody Line. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Today, Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
