Corinne Elise Muse

Salem- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Corinne E. (Candeas) Muse, who left us on September 23, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on April 13, 1940, in Salem, MA, Corinne was a lifelong resident of this beautiful city.

Corinne's journey began at Pickering School, leading to her graduation from Salem High School in 1958. She was a dedicated working mom, balancing family and career with grace. Throughout her life, she worked at Unitrode in Salem, followed by a position at Frequency and Time in Beverly, and later found her calling at Hogan Regional Center in Danvers, where she made a lasting impact.

Traveling, sports (especially hockey and baseball), singing, and enjoying life were some of Corinne’s greatest joys. She was actively involved in the Salem Drum Corps, where she shared her passion for music and community.

Corinne is survived by her 3 loving children; her son, Steven Jones and his wife Elizabeth; her daughter, Charlene (Jones) Blankenship and her husband Clifton; and her son, William Jones. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Jason Jones, Jeffrey Jones, Michael Blankenship, Kaitlyn Ann (Blankenship) Williams, Ashley Jones and Spencer Jones, along with many cherished great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert E. Jones; her second husband, Robert W. Muse; her sisters, Nancy Pais and Cynthia Mallard; her brother, John Candeas Jr.; and her grandchild, Clifton Blankenship Jr.

Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Corinne on Sunday, October 4, 2026, during visiting hours from 4 PM to 7 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal St., Salem. A funeral service will take place on Monday, October 5, 2026, beginning at 11 AM at the Murphy Funeral Home. Following the service, we will lay her to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 226 North St., Salem.

A celebration of her life will follow at the Beverly Elks Lodge, located at 302 Rantoul St in Beverly, MA following the burial services.
