Obituary

Corinne Marie (St. Pierre) Corning, age 90, beloved wife of the late John A Corning, of Salem died peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Salem Hospital following a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A and Georgiana M (Caron)St Pierre.
Mrs. Corning was dedicated to her family and Church. As a lifelong parishioner of St. James, she dedicated many hours supporting parish activities over the years. Corinne was a proud and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother(aka; "grampy's nana") who never missed an opportunity to participate in family events. She was an active antique dealer who enjoyed many years socializing at flea markets and antique shows with her husband John. Among her many interest, Corinne enjoyed sewing, cooking, bingo and playing cards with her sons 'the boys'.
She was always the first to arrive and last to leave the family cookouts where she was the center of attention to all. She was admired and loved by all. She took great pride and pleasure in attending all her children, grandchildren's events and school activities.
In addition to her beloved husband of 63 years, Mrs. Corning is survived by five children Paul Corning and his wife Nancy of West Boxford, John A Corning, Jr. and his wife Virginia of Peabody, James Corning and his wife Gayle of Beverly, Mark Corning and his wife Nancy of Danvers and Gail Reddy of Salem with whom she had resided; a sister Marilyn Weaver of Beverly, 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother Wilbur St. Pierre and a granddaughter Courtney Corning.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 10:00 AM in St James Church 161 Federal St Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St (cor of North St) Salem. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beverly. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
